These Scholarships are for qualified class seniors from the DLCRC sponsored Interact Clubs at Lake Dallas High School and Fred Moore High School.
Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Interact Club members can connect with leaders in our community and around the world to:
- Take action to make a difference in your school and community
- Discover new cultures and promote international understanding
- Become a leader in your school and community
- Have fun and make new friends from around the world
Interact clubs organize at least two projects every year, one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding. As sponsors DLCRC Rotarians mentor and guide Interactors as they carry out projects and develop leadership skills.
The Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Club is also offering Scholarship Opportunities for the Senior Class members of the two high schools where the clubs sponsor Interact Clubs; Lake Dallas High School and Fred Moore High School. The Denton Lake Cities Rotary Club has been providing scholarship awards to graduating Seniors for years. We have given over $108,000 in awards over the past 12 plus years. The Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Club Vocation Committee members perform extensive work and effort to select the deserving students. The funds for these scholarships come primarily from Denton-Lakes Cities Rotary Club Flag program.
Graduating Senior Class members of the Lake Dallas High School and Fred Moore High School can apply for the scholarships to be awarded at the Spring graduation ceremonies for each school. The club will also be awarding scholarships to selected graduating seniors at the Fall ceremonies. To apply for these scholarships, Interact Club member graduates from Fred Moore and Lake Dallas High Schools must obtain two letters of recommendation and complete the online application form by clicking here.

The highest form of recognition a Rotary Club can bestow is the Paul Harris Fellow.
The Paul Harris recipient goes above and beyond in serving our community through promoting change and understanding.
Several Paul Harris’ have been presented throughout our Club’s history to members and folks from various not-for-profit, community and business sectors. The Paul Harris Fellow Program was established by Rotary International in 1957 to show appreciation and recognize individuals who contribute, or have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation.

The Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Club invited guest speakers Dr. Shira Ackerman and Mathis Crowder to speak to us at our Dec. 6th meetng about Creating Young Minds.
Our biggest fundraiser. The thousands of dollars raised are used to fund local and international projects.
Members of the Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Club attended the annual Rotary Foundation Gala for District 5790.
Our club was awarded for being #3 out of 72 Rotary Clubs in the District for their financial contributions to Rotary and Rotary International.
Denton-Lake City Rotary members awarded their 1st Paul Harris Pin.
Donors of $1,000 or more to the Annual Programs Fund, PolioPlus, or the Humanitarian Grants program, or people who have that amount contributed in their name, can be recognized as Paul Harris Fellows. Each new Paul Harris Fellow receives a commemorative certificate and a pin.

Shiloh Field joined the Denton-Lake Cities Rotary breakfast club to talk to us about the tremendous need the Shiloh Gardens fills as the largest community garden in America,
Members of the Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Club were on hand to repair approximately 220 faded and damaged flags that are used for our Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Club Flag Program.
Rotarians were on hand to get the final touches done on the new Serve Lewisville building.
Serve Lewisville's mission will be to bring multiple nonprofit organizations together under one roof, making it easier for the community to access social services.
We take the best possible care of the flags we put out for out subscribers during the holidays.
But, over time, the flags take a beating from wind, rain and sun. These flags and their staffs need repair. Prior to Independance Day, Members of the Denton-Lake Cities Rotary club came out to the "Flag Barn" to repair flags used in the Flag Program.

Kevin Christ, President of the Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Club, with the help of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will be taking donated athletic equipment to the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Costa Rica.
The FCA is an interdenominational non-profit organization dedicated to challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college and high school and junior high levels to use the powerful platform of sport to unite, inspire and change the world thru the gospel. David Becker, Assistand Chief of the Denton Fire Department, and Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Vocation Chair was honored to present their annual "Service Above Self" Vocational Awards.
It's that time of year again when the Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Club puts out flags for their Flag Program.
Founded in 1992, with approximately 150 subscribers, the Flag Program is currently the Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Clubs’ largest fundraiser. In 2021 the club planted more than 468 flags at commercial locations and at over 2000 residential.
A member of the Denton - Lake Cities morning club, he was a tremendous advocate for the Uganda Radiology Project.
With the help of a Rotary Foundation 200K Global Grant, and funds matched by 9 Rotary Clubs, Herman traveled to the Batwa Community of Uganda to accompany the delivery, setup and calibration of the 4 ICU beds, portable Xray machines, monitors and teleradiology equipment.
Recent combined club Breakfast and Presentation with the Fred Moore High School Interact Club provided wonderful insight into the wonderful service projects done by members of this Interact Club.
These teachers and students are super impressive with there service projects and leadership skills.
Inducted at our February 7th meeting, Kathy Gaskin joined the Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Club excited to serve our community.
A retired information technology specialist, Kathy joins husband Don Gaskin a member of the club since last October.
David Becker and Gene Davenport with the Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Club were out distributing dictionaries this week to the third graders at the 2 Krum DISD elementary schools.
For many children, this is the first book they have ever owned. This year the DLCRC distributed 2700 dictionaries to 25 schools in Denton, 2 in Sanger, 3 in Argyle, 3 in Lake Dallas and 2 in Krum.
